China Calls for Internet Crackdown

China has called for internet users to show discipline and stop spreading unfounded rumors through the net. There are currently 500 million internet users in china.


The authorities are struggling with managing various micro-blogs like Twitter spreading information which is difficult for government censors to control.  There are 195 million micro-bloggers who have been warned they will face penalties for violating the law. Will this work for China? Time will tell.
